Peace is a fruit of righteousness manifested in an inward tranquility resulting from a balanced life with spiritual order, equity, and truth
that implies cooperation, humility, integrity, communication, and cohesiveness.

What Is Peace?

  • Peace has a lot of components. It implies cooperation, humility, integrity, communication, and cohesiveness. All of that promotes peace (What Are the Fruits of Righteousness).

  • God gives peace to us freely when we admit our sins, believe on Jesus as Redeemer, confess God as Sovereign Lord, and demonstrate that commitment by following our job description (Thankfulness in Prayer).

  • When we become believers, Jesus gives us His peace. He justifies us upon conversion, giving us peace (Thankfulness in Prayer; What Are the Fruits of Righteousness?).

  • We have peace with God by being restored to Him (What Is Hope in God to a Disciple of Christ?).

  • Our priority should be building a relationship with God. Having a relationship with God brings us peace (God Is the Only Peace for Man).

  • Jesus knew peace wasn’t dependent on this world’s circumstances. He knew my peace wasn’t based on where I was. Peace was — and is — dependent on our knowing Him as our personal Savior (Thankfulness in Prayer).

  • When the world is going crazy, the Trinity is there to give us peace. When we worry if we are going to get sick or have the money to pay our bills, the Trinity is there to console us (How Can We Find Comfort in Troubling Times?).

  • Peace increases when our spiritual nature is strengthened. This decreases our physical nature (What Are the Fruits of Righteousness?).

  • Poverty of spirit is really about knowing we are nothing without God. The humility, contentment, submission, and gratitude provide a peace (Are Disciples to be Docile?).

  • A thankful heart starts out with the peace of Christ. But we don’t always feel the peace (Thankfulness in Prayer).

  • Is not the peace that comes when we are obedient to God so much lighter than the burden of sin’s guilt? (Isn’t It Impossible to be Obedient?).

  • There is a freedom we enjoy when we are self-disciplined. We are more able to withstand Satan in his attempts to get us to sin. That gives us peace and joy (What Is Self-Discipline?).

  • God’s love for us promotes that peaceful feeling within us. We know we can come to Him anytime — for forgiveness, for protection, for assurance (What Are the Fruits of Righteousness?).

  • God’s laws and commandments bring the goodness out of us — and give us a peace (Goodness as a Virtue).

  • Peace is an attitude. Our attitude is affected if we are blaming God. If we are blaming God, are we accepting the peace He wants to give us? No (Is Peace an Attitude?).

  • Comfort gives peace. God only gives peace to His children (How Can We Find Comfort in Troubling Times?).

  • Submitting our lives to God bring us more peaceful, joyful lives. Jesus showed us that (Life from the Cross).

  • Peace grows more peace because we have determined what Truth is (Comprehending the Effects of the Plan of Salvation).

  • Peace ushers in prosperity. God’s promises facilitate peace (Comprehending the Effects of Salvation).

  • When we obey God, we will get His peace. It is a peace that passes all understanding (Phil. 4: 7). It is a mind-boggling peace (Comprehending the Effects of Salvation).

  • God is waiting to provide us with peace. We have to ABCD and make Him the priority in our lives (God Is the Only Peace for Man).

  • God’s truth is what takes us from sleeping and alarmed to peaceful (What Does Our Conscience Have to Do with the Spirit World?).

  • It is God’s mercy that tips the conscience from alarmed to peaceful (What Does Our Conscience Have to Do with the Spirit World?).

What Peace Isn’t

  • But we focus on the world sometimes, so that steals our peace (Thankfulness in Prayer).

  • Satan wants to steal our peace and blame it on God. God can still be in control and not be blamed for the results of sin (Is Peace an Attitude?).

  • Satan is trying to destroy the church from within. Disciples have to work doubly hard not to let Satan break the unity — and peace (What Happens to the Antichrist?).

  • Bottom line, this world is going to be divided. There will be troubles. We have a Heavenly Father Who will provide peace in troubled times (Wars as a Sign of the End Times).

  • God wants to give us love and peace. Satan is lies and chaos. He wants to fill us with hatred and chaos — even to the point of murder. There is no way we can serve both (Truth in Freedom; Being Content Because We Are Godly).

  • If we look for peace outside of ourselves, we become dependent on others and circumstances to supply our peace. What happens if they no longer can or don’t? (What Does Delight in the Lord Mean?).

  • It is the battle between good and evil that takes away our peace (God’s Law Creates Peace).

  • If salvation did not provide peace and holiness, it would be a false religion. God readily gives us peace and helps us grow into holiness (What Is Hope in God to a Disciple of Christ?).

Peace and the Churchy Words

  • Our foundation is built on the blessings of faith, hope, peace, joy, comfort, and glory (The Foundation of the Church).

  • If we don’t have the faith, we don’t have the peace (Is Peace an Attitude?).

  • Because grace has given us faith and justification, it has also given us hope and peace (Comprehending the Effects of Salvation).
  • Joy comes because the peace we find in God gives us hope. God also gives us strength to overcome the trials we face. Most of all, we have joy because we have salvation (What Are the Fruits of Righteousness?; The Rewards of Faithfulness).

  • As we gain in knowledge, our hearts are opened to receive God. We receive God’s peace, mercy, and love at our center when we accept God’s salvation (Good versus Evil).

  • For those who have ABCDed, God’s mercy removes our guilt and gives us peace. His grace removes the impurities — i.e., sin — and makes us pure (The Fruits of Discerning the Voice of God).

  • Praise is to be joyful and triumphant. That will bring us happiness and peace (How Do We Worship through Praise?).

  • Our satisfaction increases, leading to peace, when we pray for satisfaction (How Are Satisfaction and Peace Related to Spiritual Needs?)

  • Timidity makes us fear. Boldness because of righteousness brings peace (How Does Boldness Help Consistency?).

  • Salvation has given us peace, joy, and hope for today, tomorrow, and eternity (What Are the Fruits of Righteousness?).

  • Strength comes from God. That strength promotes peace (God Is the Only Peace for Man).

  • The law gives us wisdom. Wisdom, a life-generating force, gives us security so we don’t stumble when the trials come. It gives us peace so we can sleep peacefully (God’s Law Creates Peace; Wisdom Produces Compassion).

  • Disciples are given peace so that we can focus on worshiping God. If we are focusing on the chaos of this world, we aren’t feeling the worship (The Fruits of Discerning the Voice of God).

Implementing Peace in Our Lives

  • Jesus’ peace has to rule our hearts. We’ve got to focus on Jesus to keep His peace. We bring on the turmoil ourselves if we don’t (Thankfulness in Prayer).

  • Our heart is battling the evil, so that our peace is pretty nonexistent at the time. We still have so much for which to be thankful (Thankfulness in Prayer).

  • God wanted to give me His peace. He wanted me to know that He was with me. God wanted me to know that He had plans for me. I know. God created an upsetting situation to show me His peace. It may sound a little mixed up. But it wasn’t. If He hadn’t, it wouldn’t have meant as much. I wouldn’t have remembered it these *cough* years later (Thankfulness in Prayer).

  • We must fight evil in our hearts. Therefore, our heart is what allows our peace to be stolen. If we aren’t alert, we let all these doubts and fears creep into our hearts and minds and steal our peace. It is our choice whether we are going to remain peaceful. In order to keep that peace, we have to watch (Thankfulness in Prayer).

  • We are generally good at being thankful — until the peace is gone. We have to watch that we don’t lose the thankfulness. Thankfulness is a choice. We have to choose to be thankful even when our peace is rocked (Thankfulness in Prayer).

  • Life will be better when we discipline ourselves to follow God’s laws and commandments. We can then tap into His love, peace, and joy (What Is Self-Discipline?).

  • We have to seek God and His blessings — peace, righteousness, and joy. These are that of which His kingdom is made (Are Disciples to be Docile?).

  • One way we imitate God is to become peacemakers. We can only do this as He floods us with His peace. If we are more like God, others can see the peace in us (How Are Disciples Peacemakers?).

  • Peace grows. It isn’t ours to command. We cannot grow it because, when things start getting difficult for us, we generally lose our peace. It is only when we concentrate on God in those trials that we find peace (What Are the Fruits of Righteousness?).

  • We have God’s Word — that is a comfort to us. When we read through the passages, the love, provision, and peace just floods us. When we truly seek Him, God is going to unleash all we need to sustain and support us (How Can We Find Comfort in Troubling Times?).

  • Our lives are so much more peaceful and joyful when we put our trust in Him. No, they aren’t smooth sailing. But when we give Him control, He fills us with that peace and joy (Does God Help Those Who Help Themselves?).

  • We have to show the worldview people how we are different than they are. We do that by showing them the peace and joy we find in God (Salvation in a Nutshell).

  • The focus should be on Jesus’ gospel of peace through salvation. Our goal is to bring the peace and joy we have found to those to whom we are witnessing (Putting Feet to the Plan of Salvation).

  • It is easier for us to act on fixed principles. That way we don’t waffle. Boy, doesn’t that promote peace (Honoring the Lord through Worship).

  • Doing God’s Will is exciting! We have a purpose that brings us fulfillment and peace (Asking for Prayers).

  • With God in control, we don’t abuse our bodies as much. We are at peace and less stressful when we put our trust in God (Rewards for Focusing on God).

  • The peace we have from God is inside us. It isn’t the absence of conflict. It is our trust in Him even in the storms. Confidence in God will give us peace of mind (But the Man after God’s Own Heart Was a Warrior; The Promise of Forgiveness).

  • Our character is supposed to be like God’s. He is peace and love (How Do Mature Disciples Control Anger?).

  • Can we have peace if we don’t have stability, security, and protection? Well, yes, we can. We don’t have those because we put our trust in feelings. We have them because we put our trust in God (Trust as the Foundation for Peace).

  • The peace comes because we are trusting Truth, not the lies of chaos. We are trusting the One who loves us unconditionally and everlastingly (Trust as the Foundation for Peace).

  • We find peace by delighting in God when we depend on Him. We are called to delight in the Lord, and He will give us our hearts’ desire – Himself (What Does Delight in the Lord Mean?).

  • We find peace by delighting in God when we depend on Him. Our dependence on Him should not be contingent on the circumstances surrounding us. We are to depend — and delight — on Him at all times (What Does Delight in the Lord Mean?).

  • When we lead with the humility, we get the tranquility. The tranquility comes when we realize peace comes from within (What Does Delight in the Lord Mean?).

  • Satisfaction promotes peace in our lives. This satisfaction is achieved when our spiritual needs are met (How Are Satisfaction and Peace Related to Spiritual Needs).

  • What brings us peace is being in a right relationship with God. Once we get where we are supposed to be in our spiritual life, God provides the peace (What Does Delight in the Lord Mean?).

  • When we pray to God about keeping us on the Sanctification Road, we are asking that we successfully make the end goal – Heaven. That alone should bring us peace as we contemplate the future rewards for being faithful and the rest from the struggles temptations create (How Are Satisfaction and Peace Related to Spiritual Needs?).

  • God does respond to our prayers. Many times, that response is to give us peace – even if the answer isn’t what we really wanted to hear (How Are Satisfaction and Peace Related to Spiritual Needs?).

  • Most of us don’t like the drama of life. We want a peaceful conscience. When we ABCD, that conscience has a new standard by which to determine right and wrong. We now evaluate our decisions on being obedient to God. It is when we choose to do what is right in God’s eyes that we become like Him. We are made righteous (The Fruits of Discerning the Voice of God).

  • When we discern the wisdom of God, it produces fruits of righteousness. The fruits of righteousness were eternal life, peace, access, and joy (The Fruits of Discerning the Voice of God).

Peace, not Conflict

  • Peacemakers work to foster peace and reconciliation. I think most of the worldview people think this means no conflict. I don’t think it does. Oh, yes. I don’t think disciples should be confrontational. I think this means reconciliation with God and spreading His peace to those who need it (How Are Disciples Peacemakers?).

  • We are not called to be contentious. We are called to be unified (What Are Moral Sins?).

  • Because our spirit comes from God, disciples shouldn’t be contentious (How Are Disciples Peacemakers?).

  • Being peacemakers includes a willingness to compromise. That takes the ability to realistically see all sides and determine a fair middle ground (How Are Disciples Peacemakers?).

  • Support in the form of prayers from fellow disciples helps to give us peace (Asking for Prayers).

  • God wants us to be part of the family. He wants us to be familiar enough with each other that we are comfortable enough to ask for prayer from each other. That will promote peace in our lives (Asking for Prayers).

  • God does want us to work out compromises to disciples’ problems. We can’t compromise on His laws and commandments, but we can work together for peace of the fellowship (The Council Had Spoken).

  • Cooperation is an important aspect of being a disciple. We are to live in peace with each other (Spreading the Work Around).

  • If we limit the determination of our satisfaction to this life, we will miss the boat. This world is structured to be chaotic and divisive. We won’t find lasting peace. We can’t focus on the satisfaction and peace of this world at the detriment of our eternal (How Are Satisfaction and Peace Related to Spiritual Needs?).

  • Jesus’ definition of peace meant reconciliation with God. It also meant peace with our neighbors (Mk. 12: 31) and enemies (Lk. 6: 27) – and ourselves (No Christmas Peace)
  • Timidity makes us fear. Boldness because of righteousness brings peace (How Does Boldness Help Consistency)
