• Blessedness means we have been perfected (How Do Disciples Mourn?).
  • For the disciple, perfection is holy, sanctified, and righteous (How Do Disciples Mourn?).
  • Holy means to be set apart, perfect, and pure (Are Disciples to be Docile?)
  • If we look at perfection as the act or the process of becoming, that is sanctification (Are Disciples to be Docile?)
  • God says in Matthew 5: 6 that we only have to hunger and thirst, not be perfect (How Do Disciples Crave Righteousness?).
  • A pious person truly tries to be perfect in following God’s laws and commandments. No, we aren’t going to nail that every time. When we screw up, we repent (What Is Piety?).
  • Faith is the substitute for the product of being set apart, perfect, and pure. Faith is what accepts the gift of grace when we are still sinners — far from being righteous (What Is Righteousness?)
  • But that doesn’t give us license to keep on being far from perfect and pure. We have to go through the process of regeneration. Regeneration is the change in us that God brings about when we go from being spiritually dead to spiritually alive (What Is Righteousness?).
  • Are we going to be 100% perfect? No, we are still in these sinful bodies. We make a choice to be faithful, to be virtuous (Faith as a Virtue).
