Today is a music day.
Merry Christmas!
One of my favorite Christmas song is Mary, Did You Know? I sang it two Sundays ago at the church my family serves in.
I had thought about just playing this file, but I figured, no. I could sing it.
I messed it up.
I had the music on my iPad instead of printing it out. In scrolling, something went wrong, and it locked up.
It was fairly easy to get it straightened out, but I didn’t sing a phrase. I let my technical difficulties distract me from what I was singing.
Yeah, we hear every Christmas about the distractions of the season. But what about the rest of the year?
Do we allow normal, everyday life to distract us from walking with God in the Spirit?
God should be the most important thing in our lives. We should keep our focus solely on Him.
Mary was just a teenage girl from a small town. Did she know all of the things asked in the song?
Some, she did. Some, she most likely didn’t. She knew exactly who Jesus was. She knew what He would ultimately do, but I doubt she knew how He would get there.
Being pregnant while only betrothed had to have put her in a difficult situation. She focused on being obedient to God.
Be like Mary.
