Adoption is the gift of acceptance into God’s family when Jesus redeems us and changed to be spiritually alive like God.

  • We start out in bondage to Satan (How God Adopts Us).
  • We become children of God through His grace, regeneration and adoption (Paul’s Take on Children of God).
  • Our reward for being obedient and ABCDing is becoming children of God. That means God adopts us and makes us His heirs (How Do We Know We Have Hope of Eternal Life?).
  • Disciples are adopted through the work of the Holy Spirit (How Are We Sealed?).
  • Sonship is not just a title! (Paul’s Take on Children of God).
  • Adoption means we are not only set free from bondage, but we are also included in the family (What Else is Spiritual Freedom?).
  • This adoption gives us a Heavenly Father in whom we can be confident (How God Adopts Us).
  • Wherever we reside — on earth or in heaven — we are God’s. He has adopted us as His children. We didn’t do anything to earn this privilege. We admitted our sins, believed Jesus is our Savior and Redeemer, and confessed God is sovereign Lord. We accepted His gift of salvation He made through His grace (God’s Adopted Church).
  • Several promises wrapped up in adoption. We have the promise of newness. We get new names, new character, and new values (The Promise of the Righteousness of God).
  • There are some requirements that go along with adoption. We need to follow God’s laws and commandments. We have to imitate God (The Promise of the Righteousness of God).
  • God adopted us even though He already had a Son, even though we didn’t deserve it, even though we were dead, and even though there were many of us who needed adopting (The Promise of the Righteousness of God).
  • The best place for Satan to cast doubt is in our minds. He likes for us to keep going through a laundry list of past sins to increase our feelings of unworthiness. He wants those doubts to so fill our minds that there no room left for God’s love and grace (Why Do We Doubt God Adopts Us?).
