- God is not only the majestic, Supreme Being (I Chron. 29: 11-12), but He is also Father. This deity that should probably be unapproachable isn’t. He wants a relationship with us (How Are We Different from the World? [Part 2]).
- We can approach God because of what He has done for us (What Parts of Us Does God Want?).
- We wouldn’t even be able to approach God if Jesus hadn’t paid the price for our sins. We had this broken relationship with God that He fixed without our even asking (Gen. 3: 15) (How Does Wisdom Lead to Praise?).
- God is approachable; we can boldly approach Him (How Do We Get Assurance?).
- It is important that we approach God in the right ways. This will strengthen our relationship with Him and help us make sure we stay on the correct path (Check Your Attitude When You Worship God).
- The first way we approach God is through admitting we are sinners, believing that Jesus is our Redeemer, and confessing God as our Sovereign Lord (How Do We Get Assurance?).
- We must approach God in faith, giving Him the honor that is due the Sovereign Lord (Should We Rewrite History?).
- We need to approach God with a pure heart. The sign of a pure heart is the fruits of the spirit (How Do We Get Assurance?).
- We come to Him humbly and sincerely (God Teaches Us Obedience).
- We show our devotion to God in the way we approach Him in prayer. We need to approach Him as Sovereign God on His throne. Our attitude is as forgiven sinners asking – again – for forgiveness (Devoted to Prayer).
- We have to acknowledge God is the One true God. When we do that, we realize His greatness and our weakness. That allows us to approach Him in humility (Check Your Attitude When You Worship God).
- Next, we need to approach God with praises. We were created to praise Him. We need to approach Him with reverence and honor (How Do We Get Assurance?).
- We are to approach Him in worship (Check Your Attitude When You Worship God).
- Finally, we must draw near to God for guidance on what a life turned over to Him actually looks like. We need to follow His laws and commandments so that we will meet His standards (How Do We Get Assurance?).
- Listen to God instead of doing all the talking (Check Your Attitude When You Worship God).
- We don’t have to pretend to be happy when we approach Him (What Parts of Us Does God Want?).
- I don’t think this means we can only approach God talking in the King James Version. I think we can approach him being ourselves (Check Your Attitude When You Worship God).
- I don’t think this is talking about the words we use. It is talking about the attitude that we use. We have to approach God as He is on His throne (Check Your Attitude When You Worship God).
- We can’t approach God doubting His love for us. We have to be letting Him call the shots and believing He will provide for us (Check Your Attitude When You Worship God).
- We should not approach him is through negotiation. The if-you-will-do-this-than-I’ll-do-this prayer is not what God is looking for. (Check Your Attitude When You Worship God).
- Go to His house if at all possible. Even though He is with us all the times, sometimes we feel closer to Him “where He lives.” It is a form of reverence, our approaching His throne in His house. It is a physical action showing we are actively seeking God (What Do We Do When the Prayers Won’t Come?).
- We need to approach Him asking for His gifts, knowing He will give them to us (What is the Spirit of Wisdom?).
